Letter from Lori: A Love Letter to Motherhood

To all you working moms,

Motherhood mixed with founding a company is a wild mix of love, chaos and the constant battle of creating time for both passions. We know the struggles and the late nights and the sacrifices you make for your family and the constant pull between showing up for your work and your little ones.

When we launched Tulip, late 2023, Bitty was deep in the beautiful, messy trenches of raising her then 6 month old, Mary Lou. I watched her navigate nap schedules and late night emails, diaper changes between design meetings, Zoom meetings while breastfeeding and the endless balancing act of building something new while raising someone new. Adding to our Tulip family, she and her husband welcomed their second baby, Anna, in January. Tulip wasn’t just shaped by mothers, it was quite literally built in the midst of motherhood.

On the other hand, I’ve been a mom for 35 years. I have two remarkable sons, Andrew (35) and Alec (33), who haven’t just stood by me through this Tulip adventure, they’ve actively supported and guided me every step of the way. Their wisdom, ideas, and connections have shaped not only the company but also me. In many ways, it’s come full circle: after years of nurturing and supporting them, they’re now doing the same for me.

It’s no surprise, then, that creating Tulip Kids was inevitable and was inspired by real life parenting. We thought about all the mom’s out there that want the best for their kids. About the nurseries and bedrooms that hold what is most precious. Where bedtime stories are shared.

Our Tulip Kids collection emerged naturally from our experiences as mothers, considering the special spaces where children are raised. Whether you're a mother, mentor, or caregiver, we see you and hope you'll find something meaningful in our thoughtfully curated collection.

With love and light,
Lori

P.S. Order by Friday, May 2nd to ensure your Tulip arrives in time for Mother’s Day gifting! 💛
